The Rivers
Run Flyfishing School and Lodge offers beginners a hands on approach to
this wonderful form of angling. We teach one on one beginning with rod
handling and casting form, dry run practice, correct rod angle, the
push-pull cast, backcast, forecast, roll cast, stutter or S-cast, right
and left reach cast, right and left curve cast, mending line cast,
downwind cast, upwind cast and the crosswind cast. Lessons will include
correct wading tactics, reading the riffles, runs, and pools. Learning how
to "match the hatch? with your flies. You will angle for green
trout smallmouth bass, crappie, and sac-a-lait. Rods and flies included or
you may bring your own. We will also guide the experienced angler.

We have built a special solar powered barge for slow quiet drifts on the spring fed pure deep Bogue Chitto river, the barge affords ample room for secure standing or sit casting. These drifts can be catered to your palate. We offer smoked Norwegian salmon, smoked mackrel, fresh oysters, fine cheeses , fresh baked breads, fine wines, imported beers as well as pure water from our artesian well. The barge will hold ten and is also available for scenic, bird watching, and meditative drifts with music and catering if desired. Our lovely grounds also are available for small private parties, weddings, and retreats.
